Not so applicable for us residents but if you got friends or family visiting UAE, through Etihad, they are now eligible for complimentary medical travel insurance (up to 15 days). This is valid from July until December 2026. I guess this is part of the effort, to encourage visitors to visit the UAE. Very nice work by Etihad team!
They just launched Robotaxis in Dubai. Pretty much they deployed over 100 autonomous vehicles (they have said in areas like Jumeirah and Umm Suqeim but could be other near by locations too). You can book through the Uber App by selecting the new "Autonomous" option or to get this freebie, book through the Apollo Go App. They have said its for a limited time only (the freebie). Note that some of the rides may include a safety specialist onboard, but still no driver. The robotic future is getting near guys and girls!

Just saw this on Gulf News: Abu Dhabi has announced free public parking across the emirate during the Eid Al Adha holiday. Mawaqif parking will be free throughout Eid, except for multi-storey parking buildings which will still charge normal rates. Darb toll fees are also suspended during this period, except at the Al Qurm and Ghantout toll gates where charges still apply. No exact end date mentioned but it's tied to the Eid Al Adha holiday period. Happy Parking & Eid guys

Al Maya Island is a private island just a 10-12 minute boat ride from Abu Dhabi. Entry for ladies is free until 3PM, and kids under 12 are also free. For adults, entry is 250 AED but 100 AED of that is redeemable on food and beverages, so effectively 150 AED out of pocket. The island has one of Abu Dhabi's longest private beaches, a large pool, and apparently gazelles roaming around freely (pretty cool). Boats run every hour from Al Maya Boat Jetty.
Another hotel is giving complimentary access to their facilities (including a Waterpark). Just contacted them over phone and they said beach, pool access all complimentary for the rest of the month. You just need to book over email a day before (email at 01895.clubmina@marriott.com) Each day they have a limited number of space available for the free entry guests (others will be 100 AED per person, fully redeemable on food/drinks). Beach hours is until 5pm and pool is until 7pm. Valid until the end of the month.

Good if you're looking for a weekend away.
