The Fridge Concert Series is closing out Season 50 with a free reunion night on 27 October at 8 PM at The Fridge, Alserkal Avenue. Alumni from across the season are coming back for collaborations, jams and surprises.
Entry is free but you need to register through Platinumlist beforehand and capacity is limited.
Season 50 is a huge milestone for Concert Series, and 20 years of original music have brought a lot of artists to The Fridge, plenty of whom have gone on to become part of the UAE’s music story. Concert Series has played a huge part in that story, giving Dubai’s independent music scene a place to grow from the very beginning.
We’re marking the occasion with three nights of exceptional original music in front of hundreds of music fans, spanning alt rock, modern grunge, indie-folk, Arabic indie pop and some of the best new music coming through the region.
The fourth show is a free, very limited-capacity night bringing back Concert Series alumni for special collaborations, epic jams and a few surprises along the way.
Pre registration is required.
Sponsored by Lee Cooper at Shoemart, with MEI as our backline partner. October 6: PeachPuffs | The Draft*
PeachPuffs formed after finishing third in a Battle of the Bands. One year later, they’ve opened for Linkin Park and shared a stage with Muse at the Abu Dhabi F1 After Race Concert. They play grunge, indie and alt rock in loud, guitar-driven songs fuelled by nostalgia and youthful energy.
The Draft open the night with grunge, bringing a raw, high-volume sound to the stage.
October 13: That’s Julian | Josh Job
That’s Julian are a four-piece indie-folk-pop band from the UAE with a serious appreciation for a good song. The Beatles, Lizzy McAlpine and John Mayer are among the influences, but it’s their layered vocals and close-knit chemistry that give the band their own sound.
Opening the night is singer-songwriter Josh Job, whose understated mix of folk, rock and soul carries the influence of his time performing in Vancouver.
October 20: Salalem | Wetgrass
Salalem have been part of Egypt’s independent music scene since 2005, so it’s slightly ridiculous that October 20 marks their first ever UAE performance. Their music sits somewhere between poetic songwriting and the direct emotional honesty of a conversation with friends.
Wetgrass bring a different kind of energy to the room, moving between indie, pop and rock with a live set that makes the whole room feel closer together.
October 27: Concert Series Season 50 Special*
We’re keeping this one under wraps for now. Expect Concert Series icons and fan favourites from across the years. Come for the music, stay for the reunion. And keep an eye on the stage, you never know who might turn up.
